Emogene Anderson

On Mother's Day, May 14, 2017, our mother passed from this life to the next, just days short of celebrating her 98th birthday. Emogene (Shufeldt) Anderson was born on June 5, 1919, in Kinmundy, Marion County, Illinois, to Charles Marion and Mary Wilhemina (Meyer) Shufeldt. During her life, she experienced and witnessed many achievements. She rode to school on horseback and flew to Hawaii on a jet plane. She was an avid vegetable and flower gardener and did beautiful embroidery work. She believed hands should never be idle nor feet without shoes for there was always something to be done. She was a strong, dedicated wife and mother. Emogene and Herbert M Anderson were married on November 24, 1940, at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in rural Kinmundy, Marion County, Illinois. They were married 65 years before he died in 2005. They leave two daughters, Joann Bauer of Danville and Mary Jane (Tim) Musgrave of Bismarck. There are two grandchildren, Mark (Katie) Musgrave of Danville and Holly (Scott) Snelling of Danville. There are also great-grandchildren of Danville: Ramsey, Siera (fianc Brady Watkins) and Macy Musgrave of Danville, and Jolee and Eli Snelling of Danville. Katelynn (David) Ellerments and the two great-great-grandchildren, Jace and Zara, of Davenport, Iowa.
