Emma Louise Guthrie, 99, of Danville, passed away at 2:25 pm on February 25,2007 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. Emma was born November 6,1907 in Jamaica, the daughter of George Washington and Irene Hollingsworth Cox. On June 14,1930 she was joined in marriage to Charles C. Guthrie in Paris, Il. He preceded her on June 8,1983. Surviving are their children Jack Norman (Sharon) Guthrie, Carol Ann (Phil) Farnum and Rosemary (Dan) Burmeister and Timothy Curtis (Patricia) Guthrie; grandchildren Robin A. Guthrie, Valerie Kaufman, Amy Smith, Melissa Duncan, Daniel Burmeister and Brian Guthrie, and the late Carla Guthrie; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband Charles, granddaughter Carla , brothers Lloyd Cox and Estel Cox, and sisters Mattie Robinson, Mary Edwards, Ella Parker, Ethel Van Dyke and Edna Goble. Emma was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting and raising her family who will greatly miss her .A celebration of Emmas life will be held on Thursday, March 1,2007 at 10:00am at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Officiating Pastor Daniel Fienen. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Entombment Sunset Memorial Park.
