Emma L. Sheets

Danville - Emma L. Sheets, 77, of Danville, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2015 at 5:27 a.m. in her home surrounded by her loving family. Emma was born on August 19, 1937 to Leona and Victor Sheets in Danville, Illinois. Emma is survived by her daughter Michele (David) Duke of Danville; her grandchildren Cherri Appelman of Danville, Matthew (Kristin) Duke of Danville, and Jonathan Duke of Danville; her sister Joyce Ann (Donald) Smith of Alvin; and her great-grandchildren Brooke Appelman, Logan Appelman, Cooper Appelman, Madison Warbritton, and Hunter Duke. Emma is preceded in death by her parents Leona and Victor, her brother Victor “Buddy” Sheets, and her sister Marialyce Nimrick. Emma enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Emma loved spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. She will be greatly missed by many. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you donate to St. Judes Hospital in Emmas name. A chapel service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 1 p.m. Pastor Drew Mentzer will officiate the committal service.
