Emma Alice Wright

Emma Alice Wright, 74, of Bismarck passed away June 21, 2016 at her home. She was born March 19, 1942 to Edward E. and Mable (Murtle) Schmidt in Uhrichsville, OH. She married Thomas Wright in Bismarck, IL on July 11, 1976. He survives. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Leslie Dean Neufeld and one brother, Harley Roberts. She is survived by her husband, Tom, children; Sherri Lynn (Ricky) Thacker of Manteno, IL, Julie (Greg) Shepard of Danville, IL, Michael (Cheri) Neufeld of Danville, IN, Christy (Scott) King of Farmer City, IL and Lisa Dodd of Bismarck, IL, brother, Edward Schmidt of Danville, sister, Bonnie (Richard) Neufeld of Kankakee, IL; grandchildren, Brandy Neufeld, Lisa Magliolo, Renae Neufeld, Jacob, Emily and Carley Shepard, Brittanie, Lilly and Tyler Neufeld, Heather and Dylan Martin, Ethan Dodd and 8 great-grandchildren. Alice was a Lakeview College of Nursing graduate in 1985, and was employed at the VA, Lakeview and Provena until she retired in 2004. She was a member of West Lebanon Christian Church. Ft. Myers Beach was her favorite vacation destination. Alice loved her family and especially all her grandchildren. You could often find Emma studying the bible, tending her flowers, working crossword puzzles, shopping and reading. A celebration of Alice's life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home in Danville. Burial will take place at Walnut Corner Cemetery in Bismarck.
