Emery O. Hollingsworth

Hillsdale, Ind. -- Emery O. Hollingsworth, 99, a resident of Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton, Indiana and formerly of Hillsdale, passed away Monday, March 22, 2010 at 9 p.m. EDT at Vermillion Convalescent Center. He was born April 18, 1910 in Vermillion County, Indiana, the son of the late Oscar E. and Gladys Brown Hollingsworth. He married Ruth M. Seely on April 18, 1935 in Dana, Indiana. She preceded him in death on August 22, 1994. Survivors include two sons, Max Hollingsworth and Roy(Donna)Hollingsworth; one grandson, Andrew Hollingsworth, all of Hillsdale, Indiana; one sister, Doyne Dwiggins of Danville, Illinois; two brothers, Marion Hollingsworth of Danville, Illinois and Paul(Janet)Hollingsworth of Newport, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers. Emery was a lifelong farmer in the Newport/Hillsdale, Indiana area. He was of Methodist Faith. Funeral services: 10 a.m. EDT Friday, March 26, 2010 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Jon Overbey; Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the funeral home.
