Elvin Wayne Peck

Elvin Wayne Peck, 77, of Danville, IL, passed away at 5:44pm EDT, on Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Williamsport, IN. He was born on January 29, 1934, in Collision, IL, the son of Elvin W. and Thelma P. (Parsons) Peck. Both are deceased. On August 21, 1954, Wayne married Alice Mae (McCool) Peck until her death in 2001. Survivors include his loving and devoted partner, Shirlee Jones of Danville, one son; Gregory Wayne Peck of Florida, and three daughters; Vicky Gaines of Mt. Vernon, IL, Terri Jones (Douglas) of Dahlgren, IL, and Laurie Wright (James) of New Port Richey FL. Seven grandchildren; Dallas Christopher Peck, Tara Racklin (Jon), Michael Wayne (Cassandra) Peck, Alice Gaines, Cassandra Ellis (Seth) Shelby Jones, Kyle Wright, and his two sisters; Beverly (Richard) Crettol of Michigan, and Dorothy Goodner of Danville. In addition to his wife, Alice, his parents, and brother, Arthur Peck, preceded Elvin in death. He was a Bismarck High School graduate, and was employed with the Olin & Flexel Chemical Company in 1957 until retirement in 1996. Wayne was a member of the Pleasant Grove Bible Chapel and he also attended Second Church of Christ., He enjoyed his family, grandkids, fishing, and being a fan of Illini Basketball, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. A celebration of Wayne Pecks life will begin at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St, in Danville. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 am until time of service on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
