Elsie P. Peters, 83, of Danville, passed away at 2:44 PM on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Waters of Covington. Elsie was born on July 26, 1928 in Columbus, IN, the daughter of Clyde and Alice (Johnson) Douglas. She married Warren G. Peters on October 3, 1980 at the Danville Church of Christ. He survives. She is survived by three sons- Michael E. (Carolyn) Rodman of Oakwood, Steven D. (Susan) Rodman of Danville and William Bradley (Grace) Elliott of Belleville, IL, three daughters- Theresa "Terri" K. (Wayne) Dawes of Catlin, Rebecca L. (Darrell) Dunnigan of Champaign, Tamala "Tami" J. Elliott-Avila of Champaign, one stepson- Mark (Donna) Peters of Worthington, IN, two step-daughters- Kimberly (Dennis) Dalton of St. Joseph and Cynthia "Cindy" (Levi) Slaughter of Phoenix, AZ, twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren with two more on the way, one great-great grandchild with one more on the way and one special friend Phyllis Earlywine. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband- Edgar Rodman, second husband- William Elliott, two brothers- Bill and Jim McMillan, one sister-Irene Long, one daughter- Paula Rodman-Peelman and one step-daughter- Gayle Lynn Walczyk. Elsie was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Danville. She worked at the Danville V.A. as a dietician until she retired. She loved bingo, camping, traveling in the RV and going on car rides. A Celebration of Elsie's Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Pastor Kevin Zeigler officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oakhill Cemetery in Danville. Memorials can be made in Elsie's name to the American Alzheimer's Association.
