Elsie C Williams

Danville - Elsie C. Williams, 77, went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2015 in her home in Henning Illinois. Elsie was born the daughter of William and Blanche Glover on September 8, 1937 in Carlinville, Illinois. Elsie married Larry W. Williams on December 1, 1961 in Decatur, IL and the two enjoyed 49 years of marriage together. He precedes her in death. Elsie is survived by four children, Wayne (Marilyn) Williams, Bryan Williams, Karen (Brett) Cearlock, and Deana LaCombe; her seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and four sisters Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, William and Blanche, and her husband Larry Williams, one brother, and four sisters. Elsie was a treasured and lifelong member of the Ridgeview Baptist Church. Not only was Elsie a deaconess, but she also was a member of the church choir. She was a proud home maker who raised four children and enjoyed every minute with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, doing puzzles, spending time with family and friends, and shopping with her grandchildren. Elsie was a kind and loving person who enjoyed every precious moment with her family. She will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday February 17, 2015 at Ridgeview Baptist Church in Danville, with burial to follow at Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday February 16, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home, A life Celebration Home, located in Danville. The Williams family has asked that memorial donations be made in Elsies name to the Ridgeview Baptist Church in Danville.
