Elmabell Knight

Elmabell Knight, 92, of Danville, passed away at 1:40pm, Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. Elmabell was born on December 2, 1916 in Danville, the daughter of Glen and Jessie (Fletcher) Jackson. She married William Ellis Knight on September 22, 1938 in Covington, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1984. Survivors include, two sons, Ervin E. (Patricia) Knight of Westville, Illinois and Richard K. (Sharon) Knight of Danville, Illinois, one daughter, Winifred (Richard) Neild of West Lebanon, IN, five grandchildren, Bradley (Beth) Knight, Lisa (Don) Witherspoon , Rebecca Knight , Suzanne (Matt) Lofton , and Douglas (Paula) Neild , twelve great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, one brother and two sisters. Elmabell was a graduate of Danville High School. She worked in sales at the Ben Franklin store in Georgetown for many years. Elmabell enjoyed raising African violets and crocheting. She was a member of Bismarck Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life for Elmabell Knight will be held at 2:00pm; Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville with Reverend Becky Laumeier officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour (1-2:00pm) prior to the service on Wednesday.
