Danville - Ellen Pilkington, 87, of Danville, IL passed away at her home on November 3, 2022 at 4:25 PM.
Ellen was born on September 12, 1935 the daughter of Fred and Beulah (Hall) Boswell in Danville, IL.
Survivors include her sons, Michael (Darcia) Pilkington of Danville, IL, Thomas (Shea) Pilkington of Tilton, IL, and Jeffery (Mike Shafer) of Lee, IL, eight grandchildren, Zachary (Kari) Pilkington, Jared (Michelle) Pilkington, Andrew Pilkington, Jennifer (Kevin) Rupp, Abby Manning, Bethany Ritter, Brittany (Tennille West) Pilkington and Jade Pollitt as well as twelve great grandchildren, Ashton Pilkington, Addisyn Pilkington, Brayden Pilkington, Paxton Snider, Payton Pilkington, Kody Pilkington, Karsen Rupp, Jakob Rupp, Rylan Manning, Lucas Manning, Harper Manning and Hailey Ritter
Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Billie Pollitt, three brothers, Robert Boswell, Donald Boswell and Fred Boswell and one sister, Mary Huff.
Ellen had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior and attended the Assembly of God Church and the Second Church of Christ in later years. She read her Bible every day and enjoyed spending her free time playing various games like Euchre and Yahtzee, watching her programs and the Chicago Cub and Bears on television. Ellen was an avid collector of snowmen and adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 Dr Robert Bartosch will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday, November 11, 20022 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in Ellens memory to a charity of the donors choice.
