Ellen Marie Greene

Ellen Marie Greene, 75, of Danville, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, September 18, 2005 at Hawthorne Inn. She was born February 8, 1930 in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Francis O. and Maurine (Herren) Watson. She married John W. Greene on July 3, 1948 in Danville, Illinois. She is survived by: her loving husband John of over 57 years, to whom their mutual endless devotion and love was an inspiration to all who knew them; two daughters " Sue (Jack) Hardy of Lafayette, IN and Janie (Larry) Kuchefski of Danville; one son- John W. (and a very special daughter-in-law, Nedra) Greene of Watchung, NJ; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister " Minnette (Bill) Terlep of Woodruff, WI and one brother-in-law " Charles Handley of San Diego, CA. Her parents and one sister " Louann Handley preceded her in death. Ellen Marie attended Danville High School. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, the Womens Circle, and was a member of the Vermilion County Home Extension. She and her husband, John were avid walkers for over 25 years. She enjoyed word-search puzzles and watching sports along with her husband. Ellen Marie dearly loved all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She treasured all of the time she spent with her family and enjoyed spending time with all of them and playing games with her grandchildren. Most of all, she took great joy in celebrating all aspects of life and no one ever left her presence without a hug.
