Elizabeth Zander

Elizabeth Ann Zander, 87, of Danville passed away on February 19, 2010 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Elizabeth was born March 11, 1922 in Warren County, IN daughter of Thomas and Lydia Gates Lucas. She married Ernest Albert Zander on August 4, 1943 in Danville. He preceded her in 1986. Survivors include two sons: Daniel (Lorraine) Zander of Kansas City, MO and Michael Zander of Dayton, OH, sister: Letha Roda of Indianapolis, IN, three grandchildren: Justin (Alesia) Zander, Jason (Denise) Zander, and Micha (Carrie) Hanson; eight great-grandchildren: Erin, Tommy, Haley, Daniel, Lukas, Matthew, Lauren, and Olivia. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brother, and three sons. Elizabeth was a 40 graduate of West Lebanon High School and had worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital, the downtown Hallmark, and Meis Bros. She was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville. Elizabeth was a Cubs fan and enjoyed playing cards, (especially euchre) camping with her late husband and wintering in Florida. A Celebration of Elizabeths Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
