Elizabeth Vice

Elizabeth Ann (Cornett) Vice, 84, of Ridge Farm, IL passed away at 1:30 p.m. Friday December 28, 2007 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman, IL. She was born on May 28, 1923, the daughter of Eley & Clara Cornett. She married William H. Vice on November 28, 1940. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1966. Liz is survived by one sister, Charlotte Cornett, and one nephew, Greg Cornett. Liz was the mother of fourteen children. She is survived by eleven of those children: Leland Vice of Oakwood, Beverly (Larry) Miles of Vermilion Grove, Sharon Vice of Ridge Farm, Jack (Terri) Vice of Ridge Farm, Jim (Evelyn) Vice of Ridge Farm, Mike (Lou Ann) Vice of Danville, Cindy (Frank) Mason of Ridge Farm, Tina (Randy) Porter of Chrisman, Kevin (Patty) Vice of Georgetown, Joe (Patty) Vice of Chrisman, and Eley (Sherry) Vice of Ridge Farm. Liz is also survived by 48 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, with six more on the way, and three great-great grandchildren. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, one sister, three sons, three grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She was also preceded by two special friends, Wilbur Swan and Dorothy Lane. Liz enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very vibrant and strong-willed woman. She was always willing to open her door to anyone and never knew a stranger. A celebration of Lizs life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday January 3, 2007 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday January 2, 2007 at the funeral home.
