Elizabeth Smith

Elizabeth "Beth" Smith, born on February 10, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in Mansfield, IL.

Beth was a proud mother to her four children, Brandy Coy, Elizabeth Johnson (Eric), Shawn Smith, and Alison Burrow (Donald), and a loving grandmother to her three grandchildren, Justin Coy, Nicolas Burrow, and Riley Johnson. She took great joy in attending their sporting events, cheering them on with the same enthusiasm she reserved for watching Illini sports and tailgating at their games.

Beth enjoyed painting holiday decorations, drawing still life and landscapes, reading a good book or watching an old movie.

She is survived by her beloved children, grandchildren, and siblings Wayne Taylor, Mark Taylor, and Dean Taylor. She now joins her late husband, Art Smith, along with her parents, William and Frances Stinnett, and her sisters, Micki Stinnett and Sharon Rogers, in eternal rest.

A Memorial Gathering to honor Beth will be held on August 27, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 5:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center's Mahomet Chapel, located at 1102 Churchill Rd, Mahomet, IL 61853.
