Elizabeth Grace Miller, 76, of Danville, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 28 2007 at her home, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Elizabeth was born on May 17, 1931 in Cuba, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Pomeroy) Shurtleff. She married Donovan Miller on June 15, 1955 in Danville, Illinois. He preceded her in death in September of 1979. She is survived by her one daughter- Marti (Steve Thompson) Miller of Danville, Illinois; one son- Matthew (Brenda) Miller of Tupelo, Mississippi; two grandchildren- Irene Miller of Tupelo, Mississippi and Jake Miller of Danville; two step-grandchildren- Emily (Anthony) Mitchell of Aberdeen, Mississippi and Megan (Wayne) Johnson of Fayette, Alabama; four step-grandchildren- Hunter and Will Mitchell of Aberdeen, Mississippi and Haley and Anna Johnson of Fayette, Alabama; one sister- Martha (Harold) Reynolds of Mobile, Alabama; and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Elizabeth graduated from Danville High School. After high school she attended University of Illinois, were she graduated with her Masters Degree in speech language pathology. She worked for over 40 years at Danville District #118 and VASE. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, were she was involved in the bell and chanceo choir for many years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, PEO, Red Mask, Old Town Preservation, and the Retired Teachers Association. She loved to spend her time traveling all over the world, listening to classical music, theater, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She loved her two cats Kasi and Koko. A Tribute to the Life of Elizabeth Grace Miller will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Sunsets Community and Life Tribute Center (formerly Lakeside-Barrick Funeral Home), with Rev. Tiffany Black officiating the service. Visitation will be from 1:00 " 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the tribute center. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.
