Champaign - Elizabeth A. Kerr, 74, of Champaign passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Waterford of Bridle Brook in Mahomet. She was born on March 2, 1941 in Minnesota to Richard and Margaret (Hulbert) Loftus. She married Philip Kerr, who preceded her in death in 2001. Surviving are two sons, David (Marlene) Lurie of Evanston, IL and Jonathan (Angela) Kerr of Champaign; six step-children, Mike Kerr, Mary (Ivan) Kimble, Ellen (Harry) Norenberg, Philip (Maribeth) Kerr, Jack Kerr, and Kathy Howland; four grandchildren, Brenden Lurie, Caroline Kerr, Addison Kerr, and Julianne Kerr; and 19 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Christine Loftus. Elizabeth was a longtime resident of the Portage Park neighborhood in Chicago before moving to Champaign. She had worked as a secretary for Division Vocation for Rehabilitation in Chicago, which was later DORS. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening and drawing and was an avid reader. She also had attended UC Berkeley and spoke three languages. A visitation for Elizabeth Kerr will be held from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Sunset's Champaign-Urbana Chapel. A chapel service will then be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 15 at St. Adalbert's Cemetery at 6800 N. Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL, where she will be interred following. Sunset's Champaign-Urbana Chapel will accord the cremation rites. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
