Danville- Elizabeth F. Ray, 90, of Danville passed away at 5:25 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at North Logan Healthcare in Danville. She was born on July 13, 1922 in Collison, IL, the daughter of Ople and Mary A. Conyers Strader. She married Lionel L. Ray who preceded her in death. She is survived by two children, Susie (Mark) Willard of Rossville and Lowell (Margaret) Ray of Peoria, IL; a sister, Wilma O'Banion; and four grandchildren, Philip (Whitney) Ray, Brian Ray, Andrea (Dan) Buechsenschuetz, and Allison Willard. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Elizabeth was a graduate of Armstrong High School and had worked for the Vermilion County Clerk's Office for 18 years. She was also a past member of the Northland Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading but especially loved spending time with her family. Elizabeth had been a resident at North Logan Healthcare for the past two years where she was loved by those who knew her and cared for her. Her family would like to graciously thank the staff at North Logan for their care, affection, and support. A service to celebrate the life of Elizabeth Ray will be held at 1 PM on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Tom Schoenherr will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday, March 24, also at Sunset in Danville.
