Tilton Elijah D. "Eli" Davis, 29, of Tilton passed away at 5:01 AM on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at his home. He was born on March 5, 1994 to Tim and Teresa (Lewis) Davis. He married Ciera Vecellio on May 29, 2021 in Fairmount. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents; grandparents James and Ruth Thomas; siblings, Travis (Laura) Davis and Erin (Niles) Van Buren; aunts and uncles, Ray and Judy Davis, Chuck and Rose Smilgys, Anita Davis, Eric and Phyllis Lomax, and Carl David and Debbie Lewis; nieces and nephews, Wesley Davis, Edie VanBuren, and Kylan and Kaesyn Tucker; and special friends, Mo Abbed, Dane Lomax, and Cody McClintock.
He was preceded in death by grandparents James and Ardyth Davis and Carl Lewis; uncle Jim Davis; aunt Toni Myers; cousin Joe Lewis; and best friend, Drew Simpson.
Eli, or "Peewee" as many knew him, worked at Pine Ridge Farms and had previously been at UPS for ten years. He was a good-hearted country boy who loved animals and shooting guns. Eli was a lifetime member of the Collison Masonic Lodge #714 and was also a Shriner, having been part of their 25 Man Bicycle Team. He loved to hang out with his nephews and in addition to his family and friends, will be greatly missed by his beloved dogs, Smokey, Lulu, and Ellie.
A service to celebrate the life of Elijah Davis will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Fithian Methodist Church. Reverend Jie Wu will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Centers Oakwood Chapel, 105 E. South Main St., Oakwood, IL 61858. Masonic Rites will be performed at 3:45 PM prior to visitation on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners.
