Eleanora Giacone

Eleanora "El" Giacone, 87, of Westville, passed away January 31, 2016 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born October 19, 1928 in Danville, the daughter of Frank and Susie (Brukansky) Paulis. El was a graduate of Georgetown High School Class of 1946. She married John Giacone on March 20, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1981. El is survived by her nieces and nephews, Raymond Paulis of Tomah, WI, Frank Paulis of Kankakee, Judy Paulis of Country Club Hills, Joyce (Brian) Pettlon of Bolingbrook, and Jean Graham of Lisle; close friend, Arlene Weisse; and many other great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Raymond Paulis, and nephew, John Paulis. El worked as a beautician out of her home. She enjoyed her work and all the friends she made through her little shop. She was also a member of the Westville Legion. El loved to play golf. She also knitted and crocheted, often making household items and gifts for her family and friends. John and her spent many nights square dancing together and did so often. El was a great bowler and has many trophies that she had won. She was a fun and caring woman who will be missed dearly. A celebration of El's life will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville. Pastor David Robberts-Mosser will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Lithuanian National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11-1 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
