Eleanor Valentine Vyskocil

Champaign - Eleanor Valentine Vyskocil, 97, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning August 28, 2018 at Bickford Assisted Living in Champaign, IL. She was born on June 27, 1921 in Chicago, the daughter of Apolonia (Beczek) and Stephen Stachowiak. Eleanor married George Vyskocil on September 15, 1945 and they enjoyed almost 46 years together until his passing in April 1991. They raised 4 children Judy (Jim) Schuster, Rich (Mary) Walton, Jessica (Tom) McCraw, and Joseph (Kathy) Vyskocil, and were blessed with 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Her 2 brothers and 2 sisters preceded her in death, but Eleanor's nieces and nephews have shared these many years with her. We all have great memories of her family summer picnics in Northbrook, IL where she and George lived for over 50 years. We will be planning a celebration of life for family and friends at a future date. There will be a funeral mass at 10:00am on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Champaign, IL. Sunset Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
