Eleanor Haugen

Eleanor Haugen, 94, of Westville, passed away at 2:26am, Sunday, November 25, 2018, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman. She was born on June 10, 1924, in Rileysburg, Indiana, the daughter of Russell and Edith {Wilcoxen} Dunham, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Maynard Haugen on October 24, 1942, until his passing. Eleanor is survived by: her children, Richard Haugen, Susan (Doug) Minder, & Thomas (Rhonda) Haugen; her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Melissa) Haugen, Jodie (Ryan) Atwood, Scott (Bridget) Minder, Paul Minder, Curtis Haugen, Corey (Casey) Haugen, & Andrew (Tina) Haugen; her great grandchildren, Lauren, Hannah, Nate, Maddi, Owen, Eleanor, Avery, Hayden, Cody, Cooper, & Camden; her great-great grandson, Oliver: and her sisters-in-law, Doris Dunham, Emma Lou Dunham, & Gertrude Dunham. She was preceded in death by: her sons, Curt and Scott; her daughter-in-law, Cassandra Haugen; and her siblings, Richard, Orde, Melvin, & Kathryn. Eleanor was known to all to be very artistic, as well as loved to sew and made many of her own clothes. She loved gardening and had worked as a florist at one time. Eleanor loved to bake and became a cake decorator for many years. She also enjoyed crafts, making quilts and painting as well. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. A Memorial Service for Eleanor will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville.
