DANVILLE- Eleanor (Emory) Gardner, 89, of Danville, passed away at 3:19pm on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Provena USMC in Danville. She was born on November 24, 1918, in Georgetown, Ill., the daughter of E.E. and Alice Cook Emory. Both deceased. On November 24, 1937, Eleanor married E.E. Jake Gardner. He preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived and will be missed by her two children; Dr. Gary Gardner of Los Angeles, CA. and Gloria Tapp of Fredericksburg, VA. Also surviving are Eleanors three grandchildren; Timothy (Becky) Tapp of Greenfield, IN, Todd (Beth) Tapp of Centerville, VA., Tracy (Ray) Harmon of Fredericksburg, VA, and her seven great- grandchildren; Connor and Brook Harmon, Stephen and Rachael Tapp, and Clarissa, Caitlin, and Cassidy Tapp. Her two brothers; Howard and Wayne Emory, and two sisters; Mary Elaine Emory and Maybelle Emory Armstrong, preceded Eleanor in death. Eleanor worked at the Kroger Supermarket in Danville, retiring after 34 years. She was a charter member of CrossRoads Christian Church in Danville. Eleanors main focus was her family. Three generations of family members never doubted that she supported them, believed in them, and loved them dearly. The legacy she leaves behind is LOVE.
