Eleanor A. Holycross, 71, of Westville passed away at 6:10 pm EDT, Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on October 13, 1937 in Westville, IL the daughter of John and Suzanna Yuhas Dudich. She married Mel E. Holycross on June 10, 2000 in Westville, IL. He survives. Other survivors include her son Eric (Dolores) Holycross of Westville and their family; a brother George Dudich of Georgetown and his children George Jr. (Barbara) Dudich of Westville and their family and Donald Dudich of Naples, FL.; a sister in law Bobbie Dudich of Danville and her children Mike (MaryBeth) Dudich of Tampa, FL and their family, Rick (Cari) Dudich of Oak Forest, IL and their family, and Jana (Tom) McKenna of Danville and their family; one great grandson and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Dudich. Eleanor was a member of the St. Marys Catholic Church. She worked at the 1st National Bank in Westville for forty years. Eleanor enjoyed traveling with her husband including traveling to Ellis Island to see her fathers name on the Immigration Plaque. She loved to bowl. She also enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday July 3, 2009 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Westville. Father Timothy Sauppe will officiate. Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday July 2, 2009 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel with a wake service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Marys School or the Vermilion County War Museum.
