Elaine Schlichter

Elaine Schlichter, 86, of Wayne, Nebraska, formerly of Danville, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Premier Estates Senior Living Community in Wayne, Nebraska. Elaine Katherine Schlichter was born on July 6, 1923 in Hoopeston, Illinois, the daughter of Roy and Doris Mae (Bear) Gossett. She graduated from Danville High School and Utterback and Brown Business College. Elaine married Frank P. Schlichter on August 25, 1945 in Danville. During World War II she was employed at General Motors Company for the military and later at a The Fashion and co-manager of Stuckeys Pecan Shop. Following her retirement she lived in Danville and then moved to Wayne, Nebraska to be near her son. Elaine was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Wayne, Nebraska and the Business and Professional Womens Club and Illiana Sports Car Club. She is survived by her son- Marcus Schlichter of Wayne, Nebraska; two brothers- Roy Buckee (Jane) Gossett of Tampa, Florida and John (Mary Alyce) Gossett of Plainfield, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Frank, son- Richie, sister- Margaret Ann, two aunts and one uncle. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 at Springhill Mausoleum in Danville, with Father Greg Nelson officiating. Inurnment will follow the service in Springhill Cemetery.
