Elaine B. Long, 85, of Danville passed away at 7:12 am on Thursday January 17, 2008 at Provena U.S.M.C. Logan Campus. Elaine was born on January 8, 1923 in Danville the daughter of Fred and Hazel Long Bowen. On June 14, 1942, she married Donald Long in Danville; he preceded her in death on October 23, 1974. Surviving are her children Ronald Long, Diana (Pete) Rudolph, Kathy (Jim) Bryant all of Danville and Larry (Elizabeth) Rodgers of Ashland City, Tn.; grandchildren Sherri Uplinger, Jim (Diane) Rudolph, Donald (Maria) Bryant, Amanda (Wes) Martin, Michael (Kelly) Bryant and David (Cassie) Rodgers; great grandchildren Jimmy, Mikayla, and Marissa Uplinger, Sebastian, Savannah, and Lanie Bryant, and Owen Martin; a sister Betty (Werner) Anglum and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Richard Long, 2 brothers Charles and Robert Bowen, twin sister Eleanor Bowen and twin great granddaughters Charli and Ali Martin. Elaine loved cooking, baking, and entertaining at family get togethers and holidays. She especially loved to play any type of games, canasta and casino games were some of her favorites and she was an avid frog collector. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Elaines life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday January 21, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Pastor Herb Smith will officiate. Burial will be Springhill Cemetery. Visitation Sunday January 20, 2008 from 2-6:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials to Pleasant Grove Church, 3279 E. Main St., Danville,Il . 61832 appreciated.
