Eileen Evelyn Morgan

Cayuga, Ind. - Eileen Evelyn Morgan, 84, of rural Cayuga passed away at 11:17 p.m. EDT Monday, March 28, 2022 at Union Hospital Clinton in Clinton, Indiana.

She was born December 9, 1937 in Lafayette, Indiana the daughter of the late Linus D. and Anna P. (Wright) Nicholson.

Eileen married Earl Otto Morgan on August 5, 1956 in Cayuga, Indiana. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2022.

Survivors include her children: Darrell (Lisa) Morgan and Brian (Tracy) Morgan, both of Cayuga, Indiana; Monica (Erich) Hannah of Covington, Indiana; five grandchildren: Elizabeth (Steve) Burrows; Annie (Tim) Romanello; Brent (Kelli) Morgan; Carter (Abby) Morgan and Emily Hartman; six great-grandchildren: Ellie and Amelia Burrows; Taylor and Keaton Romanello, and Rory and Adler Morgan.

Eileen was preceded in death by her son-in-law: Darrin Hartman; three sisters: Betty Miller; Nelda Wise and Grace Kilgore, and two brothers: Keith and Everett Nicholson.

Eileen was a homemaker for many years. In the 1980's she became a certified CNA and worked at Pleasant Meadows Nursing Home in Chrisman, Illinois for over ten years. Later, she babysat her grandchildren and some special non-family members that referred to her as 'Grandma Lean'. She was a member of the Second Church of Christ in Danville, Illinois. She served on the Sympathy team, the Welcome team, and food pantry. She served and delivered Meals on Wheels in the Cayuga area. Eileen was a 1956 graduate of Cayuga High School. Eileen's calling was rocking babies, sending encouragement through cards and baking pies. She was an active member of C.W.F. and taught V.B.S. for many years.

Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Saturday, April 2, 2022 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Greg Taylor and Dale DeNeal; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: Noon EDT Saturday, April 2, 2022 until time of services at the funeral home.
