Edwin Wheeler

Edwin Compton Wheeler, Jr., 85, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Friday August 6, 2010 at Clarion Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN. He was born in on March 23, 1925 in Mt. Carmel, IL, the son of Edwin & Opal (Compton) Wheeler. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Inez Wheeler of Attica, IN, seven children, Debbie Newlin, Cindy(Willie) Bays, Ruth Gaylord and David Pollard, Mark (Sherry) Wheeler, William Wheeler and friend Donna, Brad (Paula) Wheeler, Darin (Abby) Wheeler, one brother, Don (Dorothy) Wheeler, sister in law, Linda Wheeler, two special brothers in law, Jerry Cooper and Darrell Cope, a special friend, Cindy Ross, forty-four grandchildren, fifty-five great grandchildren, two very special grandsons, Andrew and Joshua Wheeler and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Edwin Michael Wheeler and brother, Francis Wheeler. Edwin worked at Central Foundry in Tilton, IL for twenty-five years before retiring. He was a member of the UAW Union 579. A celebration of Edwins life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday August 11, 2010 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Burial will be at Michaels Cemetery in Indianola. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday August 10, 2010 at the funeral home.
