Edwin C. Ed Bub Meyer, age 70, of Danville, passed away at 3:18 am on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born August 20, 1937 in Danville the son of Edwin G. and Pearl L. (Collins) Meyer. He married Mary F. White on November 8, 1957 in Danville. She survives. Ed is also survived by one son: Larry (Lori) Meyer of Orlando, FL; one daughter: Karen (Randy) Petersen of Danville; one sister: Helen (Jim) Myers of Florida; five grandchildren: Terry Meyer, Joshua Petersen, Jennifer Guyer, Hannah Ellermets, and Tyler Meyer; two great grandchildren: Kalee and Braden Meyer; his two beloved dogs: Fritz and Heidi; and numerous special friends from all over. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son: Terry Meyer. Ed was a graduate of Danville High School. He worked for Eureka Printing for fifteen years. He worked for Brotherhood Builders building churches around the area for a couple of years until starting his own business. Ed owned and operated Meyer Home Improvement for thirty five years retiring in 2003. He liked fishing, golfing and woodworking. He loved to spend time with his family playing cards and Greed. Ed enjoyed camping in his motor home and spending his winters in Florida. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Danville. A celebration of the life of Ed Meyer will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Danville with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. Burial will follow at the Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, September 28, 2007 at the funeral home.
