Edward Sikkema

Edward Ace Sikkema, 92, of Covington, IN passed away on January 7, 2010 at his residence. Edward was born April 27, 1917 in Fulton, IL son of Roy and Anna Bruins Sikkema. He married Grace Williams on June 3, 1937, she preceded him in 1999. Survivors include daughter MaryJo Hines of St. Helen, MI; granddaughters Jennifer (Andreas) Karlsson, Jessica MacKillop, and Miranda Hines; grandchildren Kayla, Elzora, and Starla; and several nieces and nephews; also, his beloved friends and neighbors Tom & Jan McGurk, their children Drew (Tomiko) McGurk, Kyle (Linda) McGurk, and Shannon McGurk, and their grandchildren Oliva, Glynnis, and Maya. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. Edward served in the U.S. Navy during the second World War and had worked for Olin until retiring in 1980. Sunsets Covington Chapel will be handling the arrangements for a cremation with a memorial service being scheduled later in the spring.
