Edward S. Rambis, 64, passed away on March 26, 2013 at his home. He was born on June 25, 1948 in Sullivan, IN, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Soos) Rambis. He married Arletta Bonnewell on July 17, 1976 in Danville; they were married for 36 years. She survives. Surviving him are his wife, one sister- Joan (Gerald) Smith of Vincennes, IN, one brother- Larry (Linda) Rambis of Lizton, IN, one brother in law- Robert Bonnewell of Danville, one sister in law- Jeanette (Kenneth) Knight of Potomac, his mother in law- Evelyn Bonnewell, seven nieces and one nephew. He is also survived by his dog Snapper III who he loved very much. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, father in law- Cleo Bonnewell and many aunts and uncles. He was a 1966 graduate of Sullivan High School and received his Bachelor's degree in 1970 from Indiana State University. He then went on to get his Master's degree from Roosevelt University. He was a beloved teacher for 33 years. He taught science, coached and was athletic director at Center Cass School District #66. He received the honor of Who's Who among America's Teachers numerous times in his career. He lived in Naperville, IL most of his adult life and moved to Danville in 2004. He loved landscaping, golf and teaching. He played football at Indiana State University. Edward was a dedicated husband and he did so much for so many all his life. He will be greatly missed. Services for Edward will be private family only with cremation rites to follow. Memorials can be made in Edward's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
