Edward Paris Sr.

Edward J. Paris Sr., 73, of Danville, Illinois passed away on June 10, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Edward was born October 12, 1936 in Kentland, Indiana son of Robert G. and Herma (Brown) Paris. He married Dorothy Mae Roberts on December 31, 1956 in Paxton, Illinois. She survives along with four sons: Edward J. Paris Jr., Carl R. Paris, Jimmie (Tonya) Paris, and David E. Paris; brother: Jimmie Paris; sister: Sandra Sue Escanelia; thirteen grandchildren: Brandon, Autumn, Ryan, Annabelle, Terry, Amy Jo, Kendra, A.J., Rebecca, Trevor, Jacob, Stormy, and Tiffany; three great-grandchildren: Jaylie Lauren, Aubriana Grace, and another due in December; special friends: Leonard Songer, Danny Cox, Lynn Paris, Angel Hooker, and Erica Paris; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob, and sister Earlyne. Edward served in the U.S. Marine Corps and later retired from the Danville VA Hospital where he worked as a Registered Nursing Assistant. After retiring he worked at Kays Merchandise in the sporting goods department for 15 years until they closed the Danville store. Edward enjoyed woodworking, rummage sales, fishing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. His life revolved around his wife Dorothy, his children, and his grandchildrens sporting events. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday, June 14, 2010 at Danville National Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11:00am " 1:00pm Monday afternoon at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL.
