Edward Ed Robert LaMar, 80, of Danville, passed away at 7:54 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Ed was born on December 20, 1927 in Danville. He was raised by his father Robert LaMar and step-mother Lydia LaMar. He married Vera Elaine Trimble on December 31, 1948 in Henderson, Kentucky. She survives. He is also survived by his son- Dan (Kelcey) LaMar of Danville, two daughters- Judy (Craig) Heaton of Urbana and Marilyn Fisher of Roanoke, Virginia; one brother- Richard LaMar of Cissna Park, Illinois; six grandchildren- Shauna (Ryan) Werling of Lorton, Virginia, Tom LaMar of Danville, Ryan Heaton of Champaign, Andy (Emily) Heaton of Thousand Oaks, California, Jason Fisher and Weston Fisher both of Burtonsville, Maryland; two great-grandchildren- Addison Werling of Lorton, Virginia and Isaac Heaton of Champaign; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, and one brother- Wilbur LaMar. Ed attended Danville High School. After high school he served in the United States Navy from 1945 until 1946. He worked for over 30 years selling ice cream for Midwest Dairy and Prairie Farms, until retiring in 1983. After retiring he worked at Danville School district for 5 years. He later worked part-time for Gailey Eye Clinic and Danville Eye Clinic. Ed was a member of Second Church of Christ and American Legion Post #210. He enjoyed fishing, going to ball games and spending time with his grandchildren. A Celebration of the Life of Edward Ed Robert LaMar will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 " 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Second Church of Christ.
