Edward Eugene Spencer

Edward Eugene Spencer 82, of Danville passed away at 9:11 pm Friday February 26, 2016 at the Presence United Samaritans Medical Center with family by his side. Edward was born December 21, 1933. The son of Elvin and Mollie Spencer of Danville, Illinois. Edward attended Danville Schools graduating from Danville High School. On January 26, 1963 he married the love of his life Helen Long, after a 1 year courtship. Edward worked for Teepak, Transcon Trucking and Double S Liquid Feed to his retirement in 2010. Edward enjoyed watching his grandkids and great grandkids play sports. He loved to bowl, he loved to play fast pitch softball, as well as umpire. He was a true LA Dodgers fan. Edward and Helen enjoyed traveling to watch major league baseball games. Edward is survived by his wife of 53 years, a sister Mary Lou (Manny) Gonzales of Merced, CA, his children, Sandy (Robert) Krage, James (Heather) Spencer. He had 6 grandchildren Heather Eller, Jason (Bethanie) Sandlin, Shane Krage, Amanda (Darnell) McKinney, Whitney Spencer, and Zachary Spencer. Edward also has 5 great grandchildren. Edward was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister, Juanita Smith. Visitation will be held to celebrate Edward's life Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 3-6 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Danville, followed by Edward's wishes to be cremated.
