Edward Connell

Champaign-Edward Connell of Champaign, IL. passed away on December 3, 2017 at Heartland Health Care Center in Champaign. Edward was born July 20, 1930 in Farmer City, IL. the son of Walter and Laura Connell. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Joan, children LeAnn (Donald) Winemiller, Michael (Myrna) Connell, sister Marge Irving, grandchildren; Angel (Steve), Cara (Jeremy), Loren (AnnMarie) Michaela (Taylor), great-children; Austin, Colleen, Zachary, Levi, Carmen, Morgan, and great-great-grandchild Jayden. Ed attended Eastern Illinois University before going into the transportation industry where he was employed at Pre-Fab Transit, he then worked in the industry as an independent agent and owner for over 35 years eventually returning to Pre-Fab and retiring as Executive Vice President in 1988. Ed loved hunting for treasures at garage sales and enjoyed a second career as an antique dealer as well as spending time in his yard planting trees and flowers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Colleen and brother-in-law Eugene. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Eds name to the Developmental Services Center of Champaign, IL for his great-grandson Austin Gill. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 710 N Neil St Champaign, lL. 61820 on Tuesday December 12, 2017 at 12:00 pm with a Memorial Service visitation prior from 10am-12pm. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Farmer City, IL.
