PORT ALLEN, LOUISIANA; Edward C. Klinesmith, 76, of Port Allen, Louisiana, formerly of Georgetown, passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at his residence. He was born March 7, 1928 in Prescott, Michigan, the son of John T. and Viva Mae Hall Klinesmith. He married Dorothy Stevens High on August 21, 1971 in Pontiac, Michigan. She preceded him in death on December 16, 1997. Survivors include 1 son: Tommy Klinesmith of Wisconsin; 2 daughters, Cathy Terbusch of Wisconsin and Viva Lockhart of North Carolina; 5 step-children, Dean (Doris) High of Danville, James (Mary Lou) High of Georgetown, Sharon (Larry) Mollet of Georgetown, Shella (Tom) Brown of Georgetown, and Margaret (Charles) Wick of Port Allen, Louisiana; 26 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren. His parents, 1 son, 1 daughter, and one brother preceded him in death. Edward served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. He was a lifelong farmer, and retired from General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan. Edward was a life member of the U.A.W., NRA, VFW, and American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, gardening, and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
