WESTVILLE - Edward Brooks, 74, of Westville, passed away at 10:22 am on Wednesday, December 15th, 2004, while at his home. He was born on February 3rd, 1930, in Butler County, KY, the son of Johnnie and Daisy Phelps Brooks. He married Wilma Loraine Priest on May 26th, 1952, in Georgetown, IL. She preceded him in death on March 9th, 1995. Survivors include: his ten children, Linda (Jim) Mathis of Enoree, SC, Patty (John) Johnson of Georgetown, IL, Jody Carter Phelps of Veedersburg, IN, Edward L. (Nancy Ramey) Brooks of AZ, Wanda (Mark) Pate of Ridge Farm, IL, Donna (Bob) Thompson of Paris, IL, Reta (Greg) Lamb of Danville, IL, Donald (Phyllis) Brooks of Danville, Pamela (Darrell) Thomas of Pleasantville, IA, and Tammy (Darrell) McNeese of Danville, IL; his two brothers, James William (Goldie) Brooks of Brocton, IL, Floyd (Patricia) Brooks of Georgetown, IL; a special brother and best friend, Leroy "Sixty" Thompson of Georgetown, IL; twenty grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. His parents, two sisters, one brother, and two grandchildren preceded him in death. Edward worked on the farms of Keith Jolley, Charlie Green, and Paul Robertson. He also worked in construction and was a great mechanic. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers and tillers. He was an affectionate and caring person and had never met a stranger. He enjoyed being with everybody and especially cherished his time spent with his grandchildren and family.
