DANVILLE- Edna V. (Wagner) Wilson 78 of Danville passed away at 3:20pm Thursday, April 1, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, IL. She was born on January 21, 1926 in Alton, IL, the daughter of William H. Wagner and Eva L (Ruyle) Wagner. She married Harry R. Wilson on November 4, 1948 in Alton, IL. He preceded her in death in March of 2003. Survivors include two sons, Stephen (JoAnn) Wilson of Springfield, IL, and Paul (Aline) Wilson of Port Ritchey, Florida. One daughter, Katherine Shake of Danville, two brothers, Glenn (Lucille) Wagner and Leslie (Irmy) Wagner, both of Mesa, AR. One sister, Ellen Wagner of St.Louis, MO. and six grandchildren, Miranda Shake and Megan (Eric) Shelato, both of Danville, Michael Wilson of Port Richey, FL, Douglas, Caroline, and Jessica Wilson, all of Springfield, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William (Hank) Wagner Jr., Harold Wagner and Wesley Wagner, all of Alton, IL. Edna worked in retail management for J.C.Pennys Department store as well as Daniel Furniture Store of Danville for many years before retiring. Mrs. Wilson was a devoted wife and mother who loved antiques, her flower garden and reading poetry. She and her husband Harry were actively involved with the Old Towne Preservation Association and in 1993 received a legacy award for the restoration of their prairie style house. They both also belonged to the Vermilion Heritage Foundation, lending volunteer assistance to the preservation of the Fischer Theater of Danville.
