Edna Glendora 'Glennie' Burmeister

Edna Glendora Glennie Burmeister, 93, of Danville passed away on June 12, 2009 at Arden Courts Alzheimers Assisted Living Facility in Delray Beach, Florida. She was born December 10, 1915 in West Lebanon, Indiana, the daughter of George and Edna Anderson Davis. Glennie was joined in marriage to Theodore F. Ted Burmeister on July 16, 1938. He died on March 27, 2007. Surviving is her son Thomas G. (Ainsley Clement) Burmeister of Florida, grandchildren Theodore H. (Elizabeth Park) Burmeister of Virginia, Michael T. (Heather Muse) Burmeister of New York, and great-grandsons Harrison P. and Paul J. Burmeister of Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, nine brothers (Russell, Richard, Earl, Lloyd, Gerald, Robert, Joseph, James, and Stanley) and a sister Marjorie Davis Ellis. Glennie attended Danville High School and was a member of Second Church of Christ. She helped organize the Collett School Pack 12 Cub Scouts and was also active in the P.T.A. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, hat making, and traveling as well as sports, especially baseball and basketball. She had been employed as a Sewing Machine Operator at Musebeck Shoe Co. A celebration of Glennies life will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Officiating Drew Mentzer.
