Danville- Edna Deavers, 84, of Bloomington, passed away at 1:52 am on October 6, 2013 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. She was born on January 4, 1929 in Lincoln, IL to Roy and Maude Matson Deavers. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son Abraham; and her siblings Wally, Louis, Norma, and Bill. Edna was an avid go kart racer, and she loved racing in general; a trait that her whole family shares. Edna won the Powder Puff Derby when she was 72 years old. Ednas goal in racing was not to get dirty, she soon realized that to stay clean you had to stay in front, and that is indeed what she did. Edna also enjoyed mushroom hunting and playing Bingo in Bloomington. Above all else Edna loved her family. She will be missed by anyone and everyone who were fortunate enough to know her. A memorial gathering celebrating the life of Edna will be held on Friday October 11, 2013 from 4pm-6pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville.
