Cayuga, Ind. -- Edmund W. Hillenburg, Sr., 67, of Cayuga, Indiana and formerly of Danville, Illinois, passed away at 8:13 p.m. EST Friday (December 29, 2006) at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born January 27, 1939, in Danville, Illinois, the son of the late Edmund C. and Wilma Rys Hillenburg. He married Brenda J. Williams on July 20, 2002 at the Cayuga Christian Church in Cayuga, Indiana. She survives. Other survivors include his children: Edmund W. Hillenburg, Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana; Cynthia(Mike)Brown of Tilton, Illinois; Robert(Julie)Hillenburg of Renton, Washington and Rhonda Linder of Bay Minette, Alabama; two step children, Crystal(Luke)Randles of Ft. Benning, Georgia and Shawn Cunningham of Cayuga, Indiana; five grandchildren; one sister, Judy(Paul)Pierson of Lebanon, Ohio. Edmund retired from the Hyster Corporation in 1987. He was currently working at the Danville YMCA. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the U.S.S. ESSEX. He was a member of the Cayuga Christian Church, A 57 year member of the Boy Scouts of America, currently serving as Chaplain and Past Commander and member of the V.F.W. #3510 in Danville, Illinois. He was a 1957 graduate of Danville High School. Funeral services: 1 p.m. EST Friday, January 5, 2007 at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Andy Spencer; Burial: Danville National Cemetery, Danville, Illinois with Military Graveside Rites; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EST Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the funeral home.
