Edmond R. "Ed" Proietti, 93, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at his residence. He was born on July 24, 1924 in Mt. Kisco, N.Y. to John & Natalie (Salvati) Proietti. He graduated from Mt. Kisco High School, and later attended business college in New York. He was a United States Army veteran during World War II. He was married on August 14, 1949 in Pleasantville, NY to Adele E. Kolb who preceded him on August 14, 1971. He later married Juanita Carter who also preceded him in death. He retired as a plant manager for Spartan Copper after 40 years in New York, Illinois, Texas and California. He moved to the Warsaw, IN in April 2017 from Winchester, VA. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lions Club, V.F.W and the Italian-American Club all in Winchester, VA. He was an avid golfer and won the Senior Olympics Championship in South Carolina and Florida. When planning a trip, he would always know what golf courses were in the area and his golf clubs had a permanent place in the car. He was very active in the First Tee Program for Youth. He is survived by his children; Kathleen (Greg) Hall of Winchester, VA, Gary (Sandra) Proietti of Mentone, IN and Garth Proietti of Austin, TX. He is also survived by his brother Raymond Proietti of Columbus, NJ, 14 Grandchildren and 18 Great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Jack Nicklaus of Palm Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Adele, wife Juanita, granddaughter Anna Proietti, brother Archimedes Proietti and Arnold Palmer. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion Street Danville, IL. Father Bowman Schmitt will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 10:00 - Noon at the funeral home. Cremation Rites were accorded, and inurnment will be in Resurrection Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 210.
