Edith Metz

Edith Metz, 90, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 12:10am, Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Gardenview Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born on April 14, 1929, in Dana, Indiana, the daughter of Lee and Naomi {Pollard} Dunivan. She had married Harold Metz on July 18, 1948, then later divorced. She is survived by: her sons, Kenny (Jeanie) Metz of Georgetown and Jim Metz of Covington, IN; her daughter-in-law, Christine Metz of Ridge Farm; her grandchildren, Crystal Jones, Jason (Sara) Metz, Jonathon Metz, Rusty (Jason) Pruitt, Ashley (Jared) Metz, Amanda (Scott) Pittman, Nick (Amanda Freeman) Sumila, and Jacqueline (Patrick) Wilson; her 17 great grandchildren with two on the way; and her siblings, Janet Flint, Carole Goodwin, Linda Keeling, and Huebert (Ann) Dunivan. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her daughter, JoAnn Metz; her son, Steve Metz; her daughter-in-law, Sandy Metz; her granddaughter, Carrie Metz; her great grandson, John Metz; and her brother, Leslie Dunivan. Edith worked at Illinois Bell in Danville for five years and later worked at TeePak for 22 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Cub Scout Leader in Danville and Ridge Farm. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and gardening flowers. She was known to be a big supporter of Veterans. She will be missed by those whose lives she touched. A celebration of Ediths life will be held at 3:00pm, Monday, July 29, 2019, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, 200 E West St. Visitation will be 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Monday prior to her services at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm. Memorial donations may be given in her name to donors choice of charity.
