Edith Marie Lacey

GEORGETOWN - Edith Marie Lacey, 87, of Georgetown passed away at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday March 7, 2007 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. She was born on July 4, 1919 in Carlisle, IN the daughter of Gus and Nettie (Hagerman) Mollett. She married John K. Lacey in 1936 in Georgetown, IL. He preceded her in death in 1963. Those who will miss her include: her three sons, John D. (Pat) Lacey, Ronald Butch (Nancy) Lacey, and Danny Ray (Marla) Lacey, all of Georgetown; her daughter, Tawna Howard of Georgetown; her sister, Mildred VanVekoven of Wilmington, NC; her eight grandchildren, Johnny Bill (Rhonda) Lacey of Georgetown, Debbie (Danny) Knoblett of Indianola, Kenna Saathoff of Oakwood, Jill (Eric) Deck of Oakwood, Kevin (Amy) D. Lacey of Westville, Jodi (Chad) Steinbaugh of Georgetown, Mindy (Chad) Shelton of Georgetown, Kenny A. (Cyndi) Lacey of Clinton, IN, and Noell Howard of Georgetown; her very special friend Mary Ringer of Georgetown. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter-Bonnie Saathoff, two brothers, and one sister. Edith worked for many years for her son as a checker at Johns Food Basket. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Edith was devoted to her family and her grandchildren were the light of her life. A celebration of Ediths life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 10th, 2007 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. Pastor James Blue will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm, Friday, March 9th, 2007 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to the First Church of Christ in Georgetown.
