Edith Davis

Edith M (Dennis) Davis, 82, of Covington, IN passed away with her family by her side, at her home, on December 7, 2016. Edith was born the daughter of Herman and Delta (Roderick) Taylor on July 29, 1934 at their home in West Lebanon, IN. On August 28, 1953, Edith married Darrell Dennis, the love of her life, who proceeded her in death on March 10, 1980. On January 23, 1985 she married Donald Davis who proceeded her in death on July 29, of this year. Edith leaves behind three children, Cindy(David) Brown, of Covington, Jeff (Diane) Dennis, of Covington, and Gregg (Tammy) Dennis of Louisville Ky. Nine grandchildren, Megan Brown, Ashley Brown, Courtney (Craig) Woodfill, Jen (Jon) Schaefer, Taylor (Brittany) Dennis, Katie (Zach Fields) Dennis, Adam (Kaitlyn) Dennis, Drew Dennis and Derek Dennis. Five great grandchildren, Creighton Woodfill, Crew Woodfill, Colby Schaefer, Marley Schaefer and Hank Dennis. Two brothers, Jack (Janet) Taylor and Joe (Susie) Taylor, five sisters, Alice Hutchison, Clara (Ron) Crawford, Carolyn (Bill) Hale, Lois Hensley, and Linda (Ralph) Burmeister. And many nieces, nephews and relatives. Edith enjoyed antiquing, yard work, spending time with family, cooking Sunday evening meals and playing cards. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Covington IN. The family of Edith would like to extend special Thank You's to her daughter Cindy Brown and grand daughter Ashley Brown for their around the clock constant care and well-being. Also to her daughter in law Diane Dennis for driving her wherever she needed to go. Also to Dr Haveez and the staff at St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport, Mary Deck and Phyllis Bowling of the Beef House staff. A celebration of Edith's life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home's Covington Chapel on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 1:00(est). A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (est). Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Darrell and Edith Dennis' name to the Covington Community Foundation.
