Danville - Edith Collier, 85, of Danville passed away at 10:54 AM, on Friday, August 15, 2014, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on February 28, 1929, in Danville, the daughter of John E. Robinson, Jr. and Velva (Douglas) Robinson. She married Elvis W. “Bo” Collier on November 20, 1948, in Danville. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1981. She is survived by two children: Glenn (Kristie) Collier of Peoria and Elaine Collier of Danville; four siblings: John Robinson, Evelyn Owens, Norma Gay, and Charles (Joan) Robinson; nine grandchildren: Anthony (Toni) Smith, Scott Smith, Eric Collier, Raymond Duckworth, Raeshel Duckworth, Sean Duckworth, Alex (Lisa) Evers, Eric Evers, and Beth Ann Evers; and twelve great-grandchildren: Ethan Smith, Kyle Smith, Makayla Smith, Cameron Smith, Ashley Smith, Brianna Collier, Davajea Johnson, Bryson Josh, Ryan Josh, Raven Josh, TaNea Brigham, and James Evers; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jennifer Smith, and five siblings: Genevieve Robinson, Marie Robinson, Elmer Robinson, Howard Robinson, and Juanita Glover. Edith loved listening and singing to music, and she loved to dance even in her later years, when she would use her walker as her dance partner. She was an excellent cook, a trait she learned from her beloved mother and was appreciated for her kindness, incredible memory, and great sense of humor. Most of all, Edith loved to visit with family and friends and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Edith Collier will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, August 22, 2014, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, prior to the service on Friday. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
