Edith Belle Summers

Covington, Ind. -- Edith Belle Summers, 96, of Covington, Indiana, passed away at 12:30 p.m. EDT Monday, August 23, 2010 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital in Williamsport, Indiana. She was born January 21, 1914 in Warren County, Indiana, the daughter of the late George A. and Laura McLaughin Smith. She married Harold Summers on April 18, 1936 in Rockville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1990. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers. Edith worked for twenty years at Coffing Brothers Orchard. She later worked for eight years at Radio Materials Corporation in Attica, Indiana retiring in 1965. She was a member of the Sterling Christian Church in Sterling, Indiana. Edith was a 1932 graduate of Perrysville High School. She enjoyed sewing, fishing and taking care of children.
