Eddie Robbins, 56, of Danville, passed away at 11:47 PM January 30, 2013 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born on September 18, 1956 in Danville, the son of Charles J. and Lillie M. (Holley) Robbins. He was married to Charlotte Curry on November 27, 1976 in Danville. She survives. Surviving him are his mother- Lillie Robbins, one son- Michael (Marlane) Robbins of Danville, one sister- Patti Edwards of Danville, two grandchildren- Whitney and Truxton Robbins, step father in-law, Charles Kyger, one sister in-law, Kim (Chris) Yocum of Danville and her daughter Sierra Pollard, nephew- Josh Edwards and his son Zac Edwards of Lebanon, IN, nephew- Jeremy (Heather) Edwards and their children Benjamin and Meia Edwards of Oswego, IL and many aunts uncles and cousins. He leaves behind good friend Johnny Sanks and family and also his two dogs Rufus and Lady. Eddie was preceded in death by his father, one daughter- Holly Robbins, grandparents, brother in-law, Rex Edwards, in-laws- Cash (Rita) Curry and several aunts and uncles. Eddie worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken, Bowman Gas Station, Peterson Puritan, Continental Filling and 26 years at Danville District #118. He loved fishing, hunting, watching TV, playing pranks on co-workers, being with family and friends and being alone. He never enjoyed talking on the phone. He enjoyed being with his grandkids, nieces and nephews and he always had hunting dogs. He was a member of the Wabash Valley Bass Club, Fairmount Conservation Club and was a lifetime member of B.A.S.S. He always said he was born at the wrong time. He wished he was born in the late 1800's or early 1900's because he enjoyed living off the land that God gave us to hunt and fish from. A Celebration of Eddie's life will be held on February 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Jay Sorrell and Ed Butler officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Gundy Cemetery. Memorials can be made in Eddie's name to Carle Hospice.
