Eddie G. Moore

Newport, Ind. -- Eddie G. Moore, 78, of Newport, passed away at 2:25 P.M. CDT Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the V.A. Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois. Eddie was born October 4, 1930 in Danville, Illinois, the son of the late William and Mary Alice Hutchins Moore. Survivors include one son, Martin Shane(Kathy)Moore of Marceline, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Jason Moore of Marceline, Missouri; Melissa Moore of Kansas City, Missouri; Stephanie(John)Duey, Tiffany Moore and Chance Moore all of Marceline, Missouri; 4 great grandchildren, Jasmine Moore, Tyler Moore, Laila Kelley and Linkyn Kelley; 3 sisters, MaryAnn(Joe)Broady of Indianapolis, Indiana; Martha Moore of Covington, Indiana and Vera Naylor of Newport, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Moore. Eddie was a truck driver. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Navy. He was a member of the Newport American Legion Post #184. Eddie was a 1948 graduate of Newport High School. He enjoyed mushrooming, coon hunting and fishing. Graveside services and burial of cremains: 11 a.m. EDT Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana with graveside military rites by the Newport American Legion Post #184; Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. EDT Friday, June 19, 2009 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana followed by a memorial service at 8 p.m. EDT at the funeral home; Officiating: Rev.
