Eddie G. Baldwin

Eddie G. Baldwin, 91, of OFallon, IL formerly of Danville, IL, passed away at his home in OFallon, IL on December 16, 2023.

Eddie was born on July 30, 1932 in Sidell, IL the son of Basil and Susie (Wilkins) Baldwin. He married Peggy Marie Barrett in Oakwood, IL on April 2, 1953.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter, Jerry (Jean) Baldwin of Ocean View, DE, Carolyn (Philip) Cornell of Moore, OK, and Steven (Joan) Baldwin of OFallon, IL, seven grandchildren, Jamie (Kevin) Wells of Ocean View, DE, Jennifer Baldwin of Abingdon, MD, Jason (Mandi) Cornell of Edmond, OK, Joshua (Heather) Cornell of Temecula, CA, Nathan (Angela) Baldwin of St Louis, MO, Benjamin Baldwin of Yuma, AZ and Aaron Baldwin of St Louis, MO, eight great grandchildren, Noah, Caleb, Tyler, Abigail, Madelyn, Wyatt, Jackson, and Leo, as well as one sister, Dorothy (Charles "Fred") Bennett of Oakwood, IL.

Eddie is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Baldwin, his parents, and three siblings, David Baldwin, Patricia Smith and Emily Delores Williams.

Eddie was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from General Motors. He enjoyed spending his free time playing horseshoes, mushroom hunting, pheasant hunting, square dancing, bowling, gardening, and Euchre.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Mark List will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday March 30, 2024 from 10:00 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Memorial may be made in Eddies memory to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
