Earnest Harris

Earnest Harris, 73, of Danville, passed away at 8:22am Friday July 1, 2016. Earnest was born in Kentucky on February 21, 1943. He was the son John Harris and Oshie (South) Harris. On November 24, 1967 Earnest married the love of his life Connie M. (Eickelman) Harris, she survives. Also Surviving are son, Eric (Dianne) Harris; one daughter Tamala (Tim) Hinote; one sister, Mildred Harris; four grandchildren, Rachel (Justin) Davis, Kaitlyn (Jakub Puchalski) Harris, Alexis Harris, Matthew Harris; and two great-grandchildren, Delynn Harris and Zoe Harris. Earnest is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles Harris and Bill Harris. When he was younger Earnest was a very active person. You would find him outdoors hunting, fishing, or out in the garage working on a project. He worked 28 years at General Motors. After retirement Earnest started traveling, playing cards with friends and going to casinos. He also enjoyed spending time with Bentley the dog at his friend Bob's house A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am on Saturday July 9, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Burial will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10am to 11am at the funeral home.
